In a context where artificial intelligence (AI) and cyber threats are growing exponentially, Veeam held its VeeamOn Tour event in Madrid, bringing together data, security, and resilience leaders, as well as partners and customers. The company not only presented its latest solutions but also announced the winners of the Veeam ProPartner 2025 Awards, recognizing excellence in data protection, management, and recovery, as well as the secure acceleration of large-scale AI initiatives.

Santiago Campuzano, General Manager of Veeam in Spain, highlighted the strategic shift following the acquisition of Securiti AI. “We were a company purely focused on data resilience. But the arrival of AI has changed the paradigm: now we are a data and AI trust firm,” he explained. This change involves controlling not only AI agents but also the data they use, offering a unique approach to the market.
Campuzano emphasized that “if data has always been important, in an AI project it is even more so, because before, data was used by a person with their errors; now AI uses it for scalable projects.” Veeam differentiates itself by managing security from a data perspective, not agent by agent. “We remain the experts in resilience, but we are taking a very important step towards AI. This is the most significant transformation of the company,” he stated.

Víctor Pérez, Business Director of Veeam in Iberia, reinforced the message: “The way we understand resilience has changed. Today, managing silos is not enough: data, identities, AI separately. Without context, we cannot understand data. We need global visibility: a single view that connects everything.” This approach materializes in the concept of a “graph,” a representation of relationships between data, users, accesses, and compliance policies.
Ransomware has taken on a new dimension with AI. “Now AI exploits that framework. Things happen at a speed that humans cannot respond to,” Pérez noted. AI affects both external attacks and internal projects that can fail or cause damage. “We need a map of everything we have running: agents, what they do, what data they touch, and surgical precision to find the problem, stop it, and recover.”
This approach aligns with advanced concepts such as the new retrieval and ranking architecture for AI, where visibility and context are critical.
To address these challenges, Veeam introduced the Veeam DataAI Command Platform, a unified platform for DataAI security, governance, privacy, compliance, and resilience. It uses the Veeam DataAI Command Graph, which establishes relationships between data, identities, systems, and AI, creating a unified intelligence layer. This enables data visualization, understanding risks in context, and taking precise actions.
In the privacy domain, Veeam launched three AI agents:
These agents allow, for example, asking the system: “Has any agent deleted information in the last half hour?” and obtaining a detailed list, with automatic or individual recovery capability. This connects to the need to manage agents that write to production data.

Santiago Pérez, Channel Director, highlighted that 2025 was a year of successes, learning, and transformation, thanks to partners. “We have achieved this journey thanks to our partners, hence the awards at VeeamOn Tour.” Veeam's ecosystem is diverse, with significant business in MSP and a strong traditional model. “We provide tools and each customer or partner evolves at their own pace. We do not force adoption,” he concluded.
The evolution towards AI also demands new approaches in ethical hacking and penetration testing, as well as in AI system debugging. Automation with tools like n8n can be integrated into these workflows, as explored in Business process automation with n8n and AI.
In summary, Veeam is making a qualitative leap towards AI trust, positioning itself as a pioneer in a new category that integrates resilience, governance, and data security in the age of artificial intelligence.
