What an AI agent is and what it is not
A chatbot answers. An AI agent also does work: it reads your invoices, checks your calendar, prepares an email, creates a task in the CRM and tells you what it has done. That is why it matters so much who controls it and what it can do without asking.
“Autonomous” does not mean “unsupervised”. A well-built agent has limited autonomy: it does only the work you assign, with the tools and permissions you decide, and it stops to ask permission for anything that cannot be undone. An agent that is given access to everything and left alone is not a good agent: it is a risk.
- It does: it reads, searches, cross-references data from several tools and prepares the result.
- It asks: before sending, deleting or paying, it waits for a person to approve.
- It does not decide for you what is your responsibility, and it can make mistakes, which is why its work gets reviewed.
Chatbot, automation or agent: which one suits you

It works with the tools you already use
An agent is useful to the extent that it reaches where your work is. The ForgeNEX Agent connects, with the permissions you decide, to your email, your calendar, your documents and the products in your account, such as the CRM and invoicing. The tools are connected once by signing in, without handing over passwords.
What changes compared with a chatbot is that it can cross-reference those sources: check which invoices are still unpaid, find the customer’s email and suggest the reminder, or see which opportunities have not moved for days and create the follow-up task.

How much it costs: do the maths
The Agent plans are on the product page and the set-up work is quoted according to your case (ask us for a quote). To decide whether it pays off, first work out what the work you would give it costs today:

How we do it
We start by working out with you what you want the agent to do and which tools you work with. Each team member signs in with their own account from the app and the tools are connected by signing in, without handing over passwords. We pick a first specific assignment, measure it and only then expand. The models run on Azure, in EU data centres.
