Cloud, migration and AI

What is worth moving to the cloud, how to migrate your data without losing it, and which processes are worth using artificial intelligence on, with a written plan.

Why think before investing in technology

Technology rarely fails because it is bad: it fails because it was bought for a problem that was not well defined. A program nobody uses, a migration with no way back, a security budget spent on what carried the least risk. These are expensive mistakes and almost always avoidable with a few weeks of prior analysis.

IT consulting is for that: understanding how your company works, which systems it uses, where time or money is lost and what to do first, and putting it in writing so you can decide calmly. There is no obligation to buy anything afterwards.

  • Before choosing a tool: which problem it solves and who is going to use it.
  • Before migrating: what moves, in what order and how you go back if something fails.
  • Before spending on technology: which IT risks (outages, backups, access) really matter in your company.
  • Before AI: which specific process is worth it and with what data.

Independent consulting, a vendor that sells, or doing it yourself

There are three usual ways of deciding on technology. Each has its advantages and its weak point, and it is worth knowing what they are. Ours too: we also carry out projects, which is why the plan we hand you is yours and you can take it to whoever you like.

What a diagnosis includes

A good diagnosis mixes the technical with how people work. This is what we look at and what you take away:

What we look atWhat you take away in writing
How each area works (interviews)A map of the processes and of the programs used for each one
Network, equipment, backups and accessThe risks, ordered by importance
Tools that do not talk to each other, duplicated dataWhere time is lost and what can be joined up
What the regulations that apply to you requireThe measures that are missing, with priorities
Options for each problemA plan with priorities, which you can carry out with us or with whoever you like

How much it costs: do the maths

The diagnosis and the projects that come out of it are quoted according to the size of your company and what has to be reviewed: ask us for a quote. To decide whether it pays off, compare its cost with what getting it wrong costs you. A simple calculation for licences nobody uses:

Annual cost of unused licences = unused licences × price per licence per month × 12.

Example assumptionValue
Licences bought “just in case” that nobody uses6
Price per licence per month (a made-up figure for the example, not from any product)10 €
Annual cost of those licences6 × 10 € × 12 = 720 €
A badly planned migration (assumption): 2 days without email for 10 people10 × 8 h × 2 days × 20 €/h = 3.200 €

ForgeNEX example calculation with explicit, made-up assumptions to illustrate the formula; it is not data from any customer or product. Use your own numbers.

Data regulation: what is worth bearing in mind

If you handle customer data, the GDPR requires technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk (art. 32), including being able to restore access to the data in good time after an incident and regularly checking that the measures work. The most serious breaches can be fined up to 20 million euros or 4 % of worldwide turnover, whichever is higher (art. 83.5); the actual penalty depends on each case.

Knowing what applies to you and whether you comply is a legal matter: for that, a legal or data protection adviser. We do not carry out compliance or security audits, nor do we issue certifications; in the diagnosis we do review the IT side (equipment, backups, access), which is the technical basis. ForgeNEX works with specialised companies to offer cybersecurity services through them.

Case study 1: a small business with each tool in its own corner

Illustrative case, not a specific customer. A company of 15 people has email with one provider, files on a shared drive, invoicing in a spreadsheet and customers scattered between email and each salesperson’s notebook. When someone is absent, there are things nobody can find.

Case study 2: you already have a quote and want a second opinion

Illustrative case, not a specific customer. A company has received a quote to change its management system. It is a significant sum and management does not know whether what is proposed fits what it needs.

How we do it

First a diagnosis: we look at how your company works, which systems it uses and where time or money is lost, and we leave it to you in writing, with risks ordered by importance and a plan with priorities. You can start with the diagnosis. After that, the plan is yours: you can carry it out with us or with whoever you like, and there is no commitment to hire.

We work with cloud, data migration, Microsoft 365, artificial intelligence, automations and software development, and if your company is a consultancy or an MSP, also with the software for your own work. On security, in cybersecurity we explain what we install and sell and who we work with. If you want to talk about your case, ask us for a quote.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I receive at the end of a consultancy?+

A written report on how your company works today, the risks ordered by importance and a plan with priorities. It is yours: you can carry it out with us or with whoever you like.

Do I have to hire the project from you afterwards?+

No. The plan is yours and there is no commitment to hire the execution. If you want us to do it, we talk about it; if not, it is just as useful to you.

How much does consulting cost?+

It is quoted according to the size of your company and what has to be reviewed. Ask us for a quote and we will give it to you in writing before starting.

Do you carry out compliance audits?+

No. We do not carry out compliance or security audits, nor do we issue certifications, and we are not a law firm. In the diagnosis we do review the IT side (equipment, backups, access), and ForgeNEX works with specialised companies to offer cybersecurity services through them.

Do you work with companies outside Seville?+

Yes. We are in Seville, but we work remotely with companies from all over Spain.

What if your diagnosis concludes that I do not need what I thought of buying?+

We will tell you. That is what a diagnosis is for: to decide with information, not to sell a project.

Can I ask for a second opinion on another provider’s quote?+

Yes: we review the quote against your real processes and tell you what it covers, what it leaves out and what is worth asking before signing.
