A Record Semester for Acronis in Iberia

The first half of 2026 has been exceptional for Acronis in Spain, according to data presented by its General Manager for Iberia, Eduardo García Sancho, during a media meeting in Madrid. The company has recorded a 22% year-over-year growth in recurring cloud billing, a 9% increase in the number of customers, and a 28% rise in total billable workloads. Additionally, active committed partners have grown by 8.4%, and workloads associated with Advanced EDR have surged by 63%, reflecting the growing demand for advanced detection and response capabilities.

Acronis Quadruples the MSP Market Pace

García Sancho highlighted that, according to consulting firm data, the Spanish MSP market grows between 5% and 6% annually, while Acronis grows four times faster. “We are growing very fast, and that is always good,” he stated. The company has increased the number of MSP organizations by 11% compared to the previous year, consolidating its position as the technology provider with the most MSP partners in the market. “We were born and have developed our technology for and by MSPs,” he emphasized, insisting that the best way to reach the 97%-99% of Spanish companies that are SMEs is through managed service providers.

This approach aligns with the trend of IT outsourcing that we analyze in our article on business productivity with Microsoft 365, which demonstrates how delegated management optimizes resources.

Protection Against AI: Acronis GenAI Protection

The increase in phishing and the industrialization of cybercrime, along with the growing use of artificial intelligence, are generating new threats. To address them, Acronis has launched Acronis GenAI Protection, a solution that allows SMEs to use AI safely, with control, governance, and alignment with business needs. García Sancho explained that while large companies already had similar tools, no such offering existed for SMEs until now. “This represents a true democratization of cybersecurity,” he stated.

The solution offers three key capabilities: discovery and monitoring of AI tools, data protection controls (DLP) that block the sending of confidential information, and protection against threats such as prompt injection or social engineering. This is especially relevant in a context where corruption of AI agent workflows is a growing risk for businesses.

Infrastructure as a Service: Acronis Cyber Frame

Another major announcement is Acronis Cyber Frame, which enables infrastructure as a service deployment on both hyperscalers and virtualized environments, whether in Acronis's own data centers or the client's. Víctor Villar Ruiz, Product Manager, emphasized that digital sovereignty is key: “Our data stays with us and is not available to just anyone.” Cyber Frame integrates backup, EDR, remote management, and disaster recovery in a single package, simplifying MSP operations.

This solution responds to trends such as the partial return to on-premises or hybrid infrastructures, driven by availability issues, rising costs, and data sovereignty. In a market where secure VPN and firewall configuration is critical, Cyber Frame offers an additional layer of control and security.

MDR for the Channel: Acronis MCR Backed by TRU

Acronis has also introduced Acronis MCR, a managed detection and response (MDR) service available 24/7/365, specifically designed for partners. Unlike traditional corporate MDR, it is built for the channel, with multitenant visibility dashboards, ticket management, and configurable communication. Villar Ruiz explained that it allows MSPs to make a qualitative leap toward managed security service providers (MSSPs), moving from selling products to offering complete solutions.

“It's not about installing an EDR and forgetting about it, but about offering a service that ensures the tool is used to its fullest,” he noted. This approach is especially relevant given the shortage of cybersecurity talent, a topic we address in our guide to ethical hacking and penetration testing.

Impact on SMEs: Affordable and Scalable Security

García Sancho put the value of these solutions into perspective: “The owner of a five-employee SME can have a fully personalized SOC service through their MSP for less than the cost of a movie ticket per month.” For partners, the platform allows managing hundreds of companies with artificial intelligence, deploying backups, cybersecurity, AI protection, and infrastructure in moments. “Acronis allows you to scale, continue growing, and optimize the results of our MSPs,” he concluded.

In an ecosystem where investment in semiconductors and execution of multiple AI agents set the pace, Acronis positions itself as a key enabler for the secure digitalization of Spanish SMEs.
